The Lost Sheep - Perseverance
I hope you are all safe and well.
We are continuing with exploring our Christian Value of Perseverance.
This week we are lucky to have Mrs Card read our Bible story – The Parable of The Lost Sheep.
Say our Vision together... God believes, We Believe, I Believe
Thoughts after the story...
-
God loves everyone! That’s a really exciting thought. Even though we sometimes get things wrong or make mistakes- God still loves us.
-
The sheep in our story was lost – maybe it hadn’t listened to what the shepherd wanted it to do and wandered off on its own. The shepherd didn’t give up. The shepherd still had 99 other sheep in his care, but he still persevered to find the lost sheep.
-
God doesn’t give up on us when we get things wrong – which is pretty good news!
-
Our theme this term is Perseverance. I’m sure we have all had to persevere recently especially with the new lock down rules . Plans have changed, work is different – its hard in a variety of ways. But its important not to give up. It wasn’t easy for the shepherd to find the missing sheep, but he still carried on. It doesn’t mean it will be easy for us so make sure you ask for help when things get tough – friends, grown up, teachers.

Invitation to Prayer
-
If I lose something that doesn't matter to me -
an old leaflet, a broken pencil, a toy I don't play with any more,
if I lose something that doesn't matter to me -
it doesn't bother me much at all.
If I lose something that does matter to me -
some money, my lunch, my favourite toy,
if I lose something that does matter to me -
I search and search and don't stop until I find it,
or until I know it's really lost.
Jesus said that God looks for me like that:
searching high and low
never letting go
making sure I know
that I'm so very, very special.
